Lawrence E. Cline, PhD, is adjunct instructor for the Counterterrorism Fellowship Program at the Center for Civil-Military Relations and adjunct professor of international relations at Troy University. Cline is a retired military intelligence officer with operational service in Lebanon, El Salvador, Kuwait, Somalia, and Iraq. His published works include Praeger's The Lord's Resistance Army as well as Pseudo Operations and Counterinsurgency: Lessons from Other Countries.
Paul Shemella is a program manager for the Combating Terrorism Fellowship Program (CTFP) at the Center for Civil-Military Relations, Monterey, CA. He retired as a captain from the Navy in 1996 after a career in Special Operations during which he planned and executed counterterrorism and counternarcotics operations in Latin America, Europe, and other regions. His published work includes Fighting Back: What Governments Can Do About Terrorism. Shemella earned a master's degree in national security affairs at the Naval Postgraduate School and attended the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University as a senior fellow in national security.
