Michael P. Hughes is associate professor and collection management librarian at Brooklyn College, City University of New York. He has worked in collections and collection management for over a decade in both circulating and noncirculating academic libraries, recently serving as collection development librarian for New York University in Shanghai. He has published on collection assessment in Collection Management and presented his work at ALA. He is active in the Collection Management Section of the Association for Library Collections and Technical Services and in ACRL.
