ABC-CLIO is pleased to announce that its American Mosaic and History and Government database suites have been named “Best Tools for Back to School” by Tech & Learning’s 2021 Awards of Excellence.
The Awards of Excellence recognize outstanding products in educational technology that bring innovative solutions to the challenges of 21st century teaching and learning. ABC-CLIO’s research and curriculum databases have been recognized for helping schools expand culturally relevant curriculum and for supporting learning recovery and modified learning formats during the pandemic.
“As we head into another uncertain year in education, technology will continue to be one of the key drivers for innovation,” says Tech & Learning Group Publisher Christine Weiser. ABC-CLIO’s two award-winning digital resource suites were recognized “for their versatility, compatibility, value, and ability to help schools solve challenges and support continuous instruction.”
ABC-CLIO’s American History, American Government, and World History databases offer dynamic curriculum and instructional support in core social studies subjects. The American Mosaic database suite presents the history, perspectives, and stories of historically marginalized Americans, offering educators an invaluable corrective to one-sided history textbooks and the resources they need to build inclusive curriculum.
“In core American History and Government courses, teachers know they must work on behalf of all students toward more equitable and inclusive social studies instruction,” says ABC-CLIO Editorial Director Judy Fay. “But their best efforts are often hampered by textbooks that center on traditional narratives, relegating others to sidebars and predictable units in American History. With ABC-CLIO’s databases, teachers are equipped to integrate diverse perspectives into every unit, every day.”
