At Fairfield University in Connecticut, Collection Development Librarian Keith Stetson identified a need to shift to resources conducive to 21st-century study. That meant content that researchers could access anytime, anywhere, and that addressed topics of growing interest, such as minority studies. The answer? ABC-CLIO’s Pop Culture Universe: Icons, Idols, Ideas and The Latino American Experience: The American Mosaic.
“ABC-CLIO’s Solutions support the University’s strategic mission to give today’s students and faculty almost instant access to information and a unique opportunity to participate in a worldwide scholarly community,” said Stetson.

When New York’s Bloomfield College received an information literacy grant to target multicultural literacy, the library director Danilo Figueredo turned to ABC-CLIO’s American Mosaic database collection. With the adoption of these three databases—The African American Experience, The American Indian Experience, and The Latino American Experience—he observed significant results for Bloomfield’s students. “ABC-CLIO databases are a great tool for teaching information literacy, research skills, critical thinking, and so much more,” Figueredo reported.
