Author Info

Laura L. Finley earned her PhD in sociology from Western Michigan University in 2002. She is associate professor of sociology and criminology at Barry University in Miami, Florida. Dr. Finley is author, coauthor, or editor of 26 books as well as numerous book chapters and journal articles. In addition, Dr. Finley has worked for more than 12 years as a domestic violence educator and activist. She serves on several boards of directors, including No More Tears, a South Florida non-profit that assists victims of domestic violence and human trafficking.
