This book surveys the many ways of telling stories with digital technology, including blogging, gaming, social media, podcasts, and Web video.

Digital storytelling uses new media tools and platforms to tell stories. The second wave of digital storytelling started in the 1990s with the rise of popular video production, then progressed in the new century to encompass newer, social media technologies. Bryan Alexander, PhD, is director of research for the National Institute for Technology in Liberal Education (NITLE), headquartered at Southwestern University, Georgetown, TX. His published works include the article, "Web 2.0: A New Wave of Innovation for Teaching and Learning?" in Educause Review. He received his degree in literature from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, and has taught English and information technology studies at Centenary College of Louisiana, Shreveport, LA.
