ABC-CLIO Provides Resources and Support to Select Group of Student Teachers

Santa Barbara, CA—November 8, 2002—ABC-CLIO Schools announced today its plan to provide more than 50 student-teachers with access to its suite of subscription Web sites, each of which contains over 10,000 social studies reference entries, standards-based interactive activities, and current events and feature stories. A select group of student teachers will be invited to participate in a special ABC-CLIO event on November 22 at the annual National Council for the Social Studies conference, where they will meet with experienced teachers to learn how to integrate the technology into their curriculum.

"New teachers today face tremendous pressure to raise student achievement, yet often they do not have the tools they need to teach effectively, " said Becky Snyder, Vice President and Publisher. "ABC-CLIO Schools is committed to improving the teaching, learning, and researching of history, and we are pleased to be able to provide this group of new teachers with the quality resources they need to succeed."

ABC-CLIO Schools is an award-winning print and electronic publisher of grades 6-12 social studies and reference products. ABC-CLIO Schools is a division of ABC-CLIO, a premier history publisher for nearly 50 years.
