Sixty History Journals Added to World History FullTEXT

Santa Barbara, Calif.—July 27, 2001ABC-CLIO, the independent, award-winning reference publisher and EBSCO Publishing, today announced they have increased the amount of journals in the scholarly database, World History FullTEXT, for a total of 146 titles. Full-text access to the 146 journals is available immediately, with access to nearly 200 titles expected by the end of the year. Get the complete list of titles.

ABC-CLIO joined with EBSCO last year to create this co-branded database for libraries with general history research needs. World History FullTEXT combines the highly specialized indexing and abstracts from ABC-CLIO’s America: History and Life and Historical Abstracts with the full text of appropriate journals from EBSCO’s library, most of which are peer-reviewed. The scholarly database focuses on historical writing from 1990 to the present and contains content from Africa, Asia, North and South America, Europe, and the Middle East, covering a wide range of historical topics, including anthropology, art, culture, economics, government, heritage, military, politics, psychology, sociology, and more.

World History FullTEXT is accessible via EBSCOhost, EBSCO’s web-based search interface. With EBSCOhost, users have flexible searching options, ability to customize search screens, several options for retrieving usage statistics, ability to link from search results in the database to a library’s own Web-based OPAC, unlimited on-site and remote access, and much more.

“In this time of many cooperative ventures among publishers, we are very pleased to be working together with EBSCO to deliver a product that meets the needs of the academic and public library markets,” said Vicky Speck, Editorial Director of Serials.
