ABC-CLIO Schools Offers New Resource for Understanding Historical Films

We are pleased to announce a new feature on ABC-CLIO Schools' subscription websites. Reel to Real is an innovative instructional resource for social studies students that serves as a starting point for guided inquiry into the historical events, conditions, and peoples covered in newly-released historical films.

This authoritative tool provides students with historical and political context for understanding the people and events featured in the films that continue to stir controversy and debate today. Links to related entries include photographs, biographies, essays, primary source documents, and video.

Click Here to view the current Reel to Real featuring Troy, the classic story of the war that devastated a civilization. This Reel to Real feature is a preview of what's to come on our newest subscription website: World History: Ancient and Medieval Eras, which will be available this fall. Previously featured films include Alamo, Fog of War, Miracle, and The Last Samurai.

Reel to Real is another way that ABC-CLIO Schools provides students and educators with just-in-time reference and context for events occurring around the world.
