ABC-CLIO Launches eBook Website

Santa Barbara, CA—October 2002— ABC-CLIO, the independent, award winning history reference publisher, has announced the launch of its much anticipated eBook program. Over 150 titles will be released this fall, all with unlimited, simultaneous access for library patrons.

Responding to customer demand, ABC-CLIO’s unique policies allow multiple users within an institution to access eBooks at the same time, either on campus or remotely. This supports the company’s dedication to its two core principles: unlimited access to resources important to the study of history and offering superior value.

“Our eBook program continues our 50 year tradition of providing innovative tools using the latest technologies to further the study of history” commented CEO Ron Boehm. “In addition, our eBook model provides outstanding value to our customers by providing unlimited simultaneous access to our vast array of history resources.”

“ABC-CLIO has the model that every other publisher should follow. As a librarian concerned with distance learning and accessibility, I anticipate purchasing a large number of eBooks. I want the most access for my investment, and ABC-CLIO is providing that,” stated Jeff Carrico from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff.

All titles published from 2000 forward are available this fall as eBooks. Every forthcoming title published after January 2003 will be simultaneously available in both print and eBook formats. For a free preview, go to ebooks.abc-clio.com.
