Santa Barbara, CA—June 19, 2002—ABC-CLIO announced
today its plan to promote the teaching and learning of history
with a new approach, the ABC-CLIO History Fellows Program. The
company plans to appoint top scholars in the areas of Military
History, World History, American History, Government and Law, and
Religion to advise on book and electronic projects within their
areas of expertise. The Fellows will assist in the planning of
ABC-CLIO’s forthcoming title lists and will recommend authors,
advisors, and contributors for specific projects. They will also
provide guidance in the development of customized interfaces for
electronic resources.
The expertise of the Fellows will enhance ABC-CLIO’s
publications and will allow ABC-CLIO to develop new means of
presenting historical information and perspectives to ABC-CLIO’s
audience of scholars, high school and university students.
The Fellows will work with their extensive network of colleagues
worldwide to test new concepts and materials.
According to Ron Boehm, CEO, Chairman, and Academic Publisher,
"The ABC-CLIO History Fellows Program is another step in
ABC-CLIO’s quest to bring our customers the best in history
reference. Those selected to be part of this program will
be top scholars who have extensive experience with reference
publishing. They will work with myself and Becky Snyder, Schools
Publisher, and various ABC-CLIO editors to customize reference
publications in their area of specialization. This is a unique
and innovative program that will provide another level of
expertise and quality to our customers."
