Educational Publishing Veteran Will Help Drive Growth and Customer Centric Marketing Initiatives

ABC-CLIO, the award-winning publisher of reference titles, academic and general interest books, electronic resources, and books for librarians and other professionals, today announced the appointment of Harry Barfoot to Vice President of Sales and Marketing. The announcement was made from the floor of the annual American Library Association (ALA) conference being held in New Orleans, Louisiana.

In his new position, Barfoot will oversee all marketing, sales and business development functions for ABC-CLIO and the award winning branded products and services from such respected imprints as Greenwood, Praeger, Linworth, Libraries Unlimited, and Digital Collections.


Barfoot joins ABC-CLIO having served in key roles at respected educational solution providers such as Scholastic, Renaissance Learning, and Vantage Learning.  Barfoot also served as managing director of Berlitz International's translation services business, helping companies launch products and services in multiple languages around the world. Earlier in his career, Barfoot served in various sales, marketing, and management positions during a thirteen-year tenure at IBM.
