Hunt for History Contest

ABC-CLIO, an award-winning publisher of history reference and research
resources in print and online, challenges you to participate in the 2010 Hunt for
History
competition. With this stimulating scavenger quest, teachers and school
library media specialists can hone student research and critical thinking skills
and enter to win fantastic prizes, including the new Amazon Kindle and free
subscriptions to ABC-CLIO databases and eBook collections.

Use this contest to deepen student engagement with Women's History Month!


Follow these easy steps to get started today:

  • Sign up for a 60-day preview to all eight of the ABC-CLIO online databases. Please note that you will need to refer back to this website after signing up for a preview to continue to Step 2.
  • Take the Hunt for History challenge: Using your free preview, explore the
    ABC-CLIO databases to find the answers to 15 questions about U.S. and
    world history. Please remember that you will need to keep both the Hunt for
    History and database browser open to complete the challenge.
  • Participants who submit correct responses will be entered to win a multitude
    of great prizes, including eight brand-new Amazon Kindles and free
    subscriptions to the ABC-CLIO databases. Prizes will be awarded weekly, providing many opportunities to win.

Eligibility:

Hunt for History is open only to teachers and librarians in accredited,
public and private schools, located in the United States and U.S. territories.
Employees, volunteers, interns, and agents of ABC-CLIO; their affiliates,
subsidiaries and advertising and promotion agencies and their immediate
families (spouse, parents, children, and siblings and their respective spouses);
and individuals living in the same households of such persons are ineligible
to enter or win. Limit one entry per individual. Void where prohibited by law.
All federal, state, and local laws apply.

By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and accept
decisions of the Competition Administrator as final in all matters relating to this
Competition.
